Job description

  • Spearhead the maintenance of technical solutions in accordance with established architecture designs to uphold system integrity and efficiency.
  • Ownership and maintenance: roadmap, backlog and ongoing task list (in Jira); incl. planning, prioritization, task dispatching, task assignment and execution control.
  • Ensure the continuous health and availability of all deployed systems, overseeing their day-to-day management to meet predefined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
  • Take charge of system reliability, performance optimization, and security enhancement efforts.
  • Lead the 2nd line engineering support team(1-2FTE), providing hands-on technical assistance and guidance as needed. This includes tasks related to virtual machines, networking configurations, storage management, and implementing security enhancements
  • Monitor and maintain systems and services while implementing industry best practices and innovative strategies to bolster operational efficiency and maximize uptime.
  • Conduct routine Disaster Recovery (DR) tests across various facets of the infrastructure to validate preparedness and resilience.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive procedural and process documentation to empower the Infrastructure team and streamline operations.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Software Development, Information Security, and Enterprise Architecture to define and align on architectural best practices.
  • Provide round-the-clock support for Business and System Operations, while maintaining robust security postures.
  • Following the parent company's acquisition of another company, the hiring individual will be tasked with providing support and actively participating in the transition of the second company's infrastructure.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role and 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure
  • Experience with Public Clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)  
  • Experience with IaaC (infrastructure as code) or at least good alignment 
  • Good experience with Windows and Linux server OS (incl. PowerShell and Bash) 
  • Good understanding of general infrastructure (Network planning; SSL/TLS; VM/HyperV; DNS 
  • Experience working with different Web and Application Server platforms (IIS, Jboss, IBM, etc.) 
  • At least some working experience with the following: email servers, Active Directory, Identity Access Management, etc. 
  • Some experience with DevOps Automation Tools (Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Cloudfare, Terraform) 
  • Understanding of Security configuration principles 
  • Experience managing RDBMs and NoSQL Servers (preferable: MySQL, MS SQL)  
  • Experience with Monitoring and LogAggregator Tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana and Prometheus)
  • Understanding of software development life cycle and software architecture 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and detail-oriented, energetic personality with initiative and good communication skills
  • Good level of English – intermediate or higher 
  • Alignment with modern technologies and frameworks 
  • Demonstrate understanding of non-functional requirements  
  • Desire to learn and actively use technologies and tools available in public clouds 

Nice to have:

  • Familiar with various IT Tools: Code Versioning, Log Aggregators, Monitoring Tools, Automation Tools, Testing Tools, etc.  
  • PowerShell and bash (highly desirable)
  • Database administration (MSSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL)
  • Understanding and experience with Azure Monitor, Grafana and Prometheus
  • Russian and Latvian language skills.
